Pesky birds
Much as I welcome seeing birds having a lovely time in the potager, I could do without them decimating my plants. Today I discovered that either birds or rabbits have eaten the tops off radishes, Brussels sprouts, buckshorn plantain and lettuces. Little blighters.
I’ve put netting over as much of the tender plants as I can for the moment. I’m waiting for new netting to arrive this week. I’ve also put new batteries in the wildlife camera and set it to see if I can spot the little varmints.
Meanwhile the rhubarb is pushing through. Can’t wait for the first rhubarb tart.
The weather has been cool in the wind but with bright sunshine, so not at all bad to work in. The goldfish and gambusia have all survived the winter and are now spending their days hanging around sunbathing.
