Tempestuous weather

It could not have rained harder this morning. The pinkish stuff you can see at the bottom of the garden is a river of water. We had thousands of litres overflowing from the already full tanks in the basement. As if that wasn’t bad enough the village was struck by lightning, so we lost all power for about three hours, so I couldn’t pump water away. Still, it drained fast enough once the rain stopped. Actually, we’d have had power back sooner had we known about the trip switch on the meter at the end of the drive. (Thanks Bart!)
